Song Choices

I have done some research into some artists that are similar to the one I am going to create and I think a fast pace, up beat song is one people would associate with my artist. I want the lyrics in the song to relate to style of my artist. Here are a few songs I have come up with with I believe all achieve this:

  1. The Streets - Fit But You Know It
This song has a catchy beat as well as relating lyrics a young male artist would relate to in saying

"See I reckon you're about an 8 or a 9,
Maybe even 9 and a half in four beers time."

"I think you are really fit
You're fit But my gosh don't you know it"

Also the video of this is well of its time and I believe a it can be changed dramatically by a new modern approach.

        2. Jamie T - Sticks n Stones

This song is great in terms of the stylistic image im trying to pull off as Jamie T is a Carefree Londoner who enforces youth culture. The lyrics in this song also relate to my artist:

"I was a ten a day, how'd you say, little shit"
"he's out on the town tryin' to find trouble."

       3. Arctic Monkeys - A Certain Romance

Arctic Monkeys are a band who come from a run down city called Sheffield and this song enforces this carefree image through its lyrics.

"Well oh they might wear classic Reeboks
Or knackered Converse
Or tracky bottoms tucked in socks"

"And just 'cause he's had a couple of cans
He thinks it's alright to act like a dickhead"

Although this a song was created by a band it could be transferred to fit a solo artist as Alex Turner's voice is prominent thorough out.
